Karolina Kowalkiewicz

Karolina Kowalkiewicz is a Polish MMA fighter, who currently fights for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She is the former KSW Women’s Flyweight Champion. She has a personal MMA record of 13-7-0 (W-L-D).

Karolina Kowalkiewicz was born on October 15, 1985, in Lodz, Poland. She started practicing Muay Thai and Krav Maga, before turning to MMA.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz began her mixed martial arts career at the age of sixteen when she began training in Krav Maga. She later trained in Muay Thai and decided to make it a career. She fought two amateur fights before turning pro.

MMA debut

Karolina Kowalkiewicz made her professional debut in her native Poland on May 18, 2012. She fought versus Marzena Wojas at EFS 2 – Extreme Fighting Sports 2 and won via TKO in Round 1.

KSW career

Karolina Kowalkiewicz continue her MMA career in the Polish promoter KSW, where had five fights.

On December 1, 2012, she faced Paulina Bonkowska at KSW 21 – Final Resolution and won via unanimous decision.

On June 8, 2013, she fought versus Marta Chojnoska at KSW 23 – Khalidov vs. Manhoef and won via rear-naked choke submission in Round 1.

On September 28, 2013, Karolina Kowalkiewicz faced Simona Soukupova at KSW 24 – Clash of the Giants and won via unanimous decision.

On May 17, 2014, she registered another win versus Jasminka Cive at KSW 27 – Cage Time via armbar submission in the first round.

She took a break from KSW to have a single fight at Invicta FC, but in 015, she made her last fifth bout at KSW 30 – Genesis versus Kalindra Faria and won via split decision.

Invicta FC career

Karolina Kowalkiewicz made her first and only fight in Invicta FC on November 1, 2014, versus Mizuki Inoue t Invicta FC 9 – Honchak vs. Hashi. She won via split decision.

UFC career

Karolina Kowalkiewicz made her UFC debut on December 19, 2015, versus Randa Markos at UFC on Fox 17 – Dos Anjos vs. Cerrone 2. She on the fight via unanimous decision

On May 8, 2016, she fought versus Heather Clark at UFC Fight Night 87 – Overeem vs. Arlovski and took another victory via unanimous decision.

On July 30, 2016, she won her 10th consecutive professional victory versus Rose Namajunas at UFC 201 – Lawler vs. Woodley via split decision.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz registered her first loss on November 12, 2016, at UFC 205 – Alvarez vs. McGregor by Joanna Jedrzejczyk via unanimous decision.

On June 3, 2017, she faced Claudia Gadelha at UFC 212 – Aldo vs. Holloway, but again was unsuccessful and lost via rear-naked choke submission in the first round.

In 2017, she had one more fight versus Jodie Esquibel at UFC Fight Night 118 – Cerrone vs. Till, but this time succeeded to win via unanimous decision.

On April 7, 2018, she won her fight versus Felice Herrig at UFC 223 – Khabib vs. Iaquinta via split decision.

On September 8, 2018, she lost to Jessica Andrade at UFC 228 – Woodley vs. Till via KO in the first round.

In 2019, Karolina Kowalkiewicz registered two more losses to Michelle Waterson-Gomez at UFC on ESPN 2 – Barboza vs. Gaethje and Alexa Grasso at UFC 238 – Cejudo vs. Moraes, both via unanimous decision.

On February 23, 2020, she faced Xiaonan Yan at UFC Fight Night 168 – Felder vs. Hooker. The fight was thought, but she lost again va unanimous decision.

On August 7, 2021, Karolina Kowalkiewicz lost to Jessica Penne at UFC 265 – Lewis vs. Gane via armbar submission in the first round.

On June 4, 2022, Karolina Kowalkiewicz succeeded to stop her negative series and achieved a victory versus Felice Herrig at UFC Fight Night 207 – Volkov vs. Rozenstruik via rear-naked choke submission in the second round.
