Alejandra Lara is a Colombian female mixed martial artist currently signed to the Bellator MMA promotion. Her personal MMA record is 9-6-0 (W-L-D).

Alejandra Lara was born on August 4, 1994, in Medellin, Colombia. She started training in kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from an early age, before turning to MMA.

Alejandra Lara MMA Career

Alejandra Lara had local amateur fighting in grappling and MMA before turning professional. She showed great efficiency and aggression, which attracted the promoters quickly.

MMA debut

Alejandra Lara made her MMA debut on December 10, 2011, on Extreme Combat MMA Senshi Ki 1 against Monica Leon, winning the fight in round one via TKO (Retirement).

Early MMA career

Before joining Bellator MMA, she amassed a record of 6 wins against 1 loss.

On September 29, 2012, Alejandra Lara won her bout versus Maria Aguero at the PFC 1 – Professional Fight Club 1 via TKO (Punches) in the first round.

On July 26, 2013, she defeated Paola Calderon at the SFC 9 – Striker Fighting Championship 9 via unanimous decision.

On November 16, 2013, Alejandra Lara won versus Paola Calderon at the SFC 12 – Striker Fighting Championship 12 via technical armbar submission in the first round.

On March 26, 2015, she lost to Sabina Mazo at the SFC 18 – Striker Fighting Championship 18 via unanimous decision.

On September 5, 2015, she took the victory in the fight versus Janeth Alvarado at the Cage Fight Nights – CFN MMA League 6 via TKO (Retirement) in Round 1.

On February 13, 2016, Alejandra Lara registered her 7th MMA professional victory versus Lina Franco Rodriguez at the Empire Sports Marketing – Colombia vs. The World via rear-naked choke submission in Round 2.

Bellator career

Alejandra Lara debuted in Bellator on December 9, 2017. She defeated Lena Ovchynnikova at the Bellator 190 via a rear-naked choke submission in the third round. Bellator announced in February 2018 that they extended her contract with the promotion.

On June 29, 2018, she faced Ilima-Lei Macfarlane at the main event of the Bellator 201 – Macfarlane vs. Lara but lost via armbar submission in the third round.

On December 14, 2018, she faced Juliana Velasquez at the Bellator 212 – Primus vs. Chandler 2. Unfortunately, Alejandra Lara registered another loss, this time via a split decision.

On August 24, 2019, she fought versus Taylor Turner at the Bellator 225 – Mitrione vs. Kharitonov 2 and won via TKO (Punches) in the first round.

On December 20, 2019, Alejandra Lara fought versus Veta Arteaga at the Bellator 235 – Salute the Troops: Barnett vs. Markes. She won the fight via unanimous decision.

On April 2, 2021, she returned in the Octagon after more than a year of absence. She fought versus Kana Watanabe at the Bellator 255 – Pitbull vs. Sanchez 2 and lost via split decision.

On September 18, 2021, Alejandra Lara faced DeAnna Bennett at the Bellator 266 – Romero vs. Davis, losing the fight via unanimous decision.

On June 24, 2022, she registered another loss to Ilara Joanne at the Bellator 282 – Mousasi vs. Eblen via unanimous decision.
