Lupita Godinez is a Mexican-Canadian female MMA fighter, who competes in the Strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She is a Purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and has a professional MMA record of 10-3-0 (W-L-D).
Maria Guadalupe Godinez, also known as Lupita Godinez, was born on September 6, 1993, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Her family emigrated from Mexico in 2007 and settled in Canada, where she started in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and improved her judo skills.
Lupita Godinez started fighting as an amateur in 2016, registering four wins, three losses, and one draw. Despite the unsuccessful start, she did not retreat and continued developing her skills and gaining experience at the Octagon.

Lupita Godinez made her professional MMA debut on June 30, 2018, versus Jennah Macallister at the SCL 9. She won the fight via unanimous decision.
On May 18, 2018, she had another fight at the SCL Fight Night, defeating Ashlee Mastin via TKO in the first round.
Lupita Godinez continue fighting successfully in the next matches, defeating Felisha Magallan at the Combate Americas 42 via unanimous decision, Lindsay Garbatt at the BTC 8 Eliminator via unanimous decision, and Vanessa Demopoulos at the LFA 94, where was the main event of the night, via majority decision.
Her great performance brought the attention and signed with the UFC. Lupita Godinez made her UFC debut on April 17, 2021, versus Jessica Penne at the UFC on ESPN 22. Unfortunately, the Mexican-Canadian MMA fighter lost via split decision.
On October 9, 2021, she achieved her first UFC victory versus Silvana Gomez Juarez at the UFC Fight Night 194. She won the fight via armbar submission in the first round. This fight earned her the Performance of the Night award.
Lupita Godinez faced Luana Carolina at the UFC Fight Night 195 in October 2021, losing the match via unanimous decision.
She returned on the winning path on November 20, 2021, defeating Konklak Suphisara at the UFC Fight Night 198 via unanimous decision. On May 7, 2022, Lupita Godinez achieved another win versus Ariane Carnelossi at the UFC 274 again via unanimous decision.
She faced Angela Hill at the UFC on ESPN 41 in August 2022 but lost the fight via unanimous decision.
On April 8, 2023, Lupita Godinez won her fight versus Cynthia Calvillo at the UFC 287 via split decision and in May 2023, she defeated Emily Ducote at the UFC Fight Night 223 via unanimous decision.
